Increase your speed, flow & confidence in your rope bondage play!
Whether you're an expert or have only taken one rope bondage class, this experience will help to make your rope play more confident, smooth and intuitive.
This class will cover essential skills for fluid, effective and graceful motion in tying. Great flow and speed skills add to dynamic scenes with power emotional and play potential, increases confidence, allows for greater creative thinking and connection with your partner.
After the initial discussion, the students will break into pairs for series of unique timed drills and challenges. These are non-competitive exercises designed to increase your speed and confidence while identifying areas to improve. Along the way Midori will work with each attendee to help in their skills growth. Each exercise has purpose and philosophy behind it to deepen your play, whether you cast rope, receive rope or enjoy all sides of the rope in your private play. Everyone is expected to do the exercises, which in turn will enhance your personal play.
This method is rooted in the Rope Dojo® philosophy - and thus will be presented in a rather uncommon way. Trust the method. It works! A bit of the "wax on, wax off" if you will...
This Rope Dojo Elective is open to those who play at one or both ends of the rope.
You do not have to be a Rope Bondage Dojo graduate to attend. If you've not attended, this class will provide excellent foundation for Dojo. If you are a graduate, it's designed to enhance your effectiveness and build on the core curriculum.
When: Thursday, May 15th, 2014. Doors open at 3pm. Instructions start promtly at 3:30pm. Please be on time as the class is tighly scheduled.
Cost: $45 per pair. Advence ticket purchase only. Space limited to 10 pairs.
BRING:
REQUIRED
- Please come with an exercise buddy. They don't have to be your play partner or lover... If they are it's great, but a buddy is totally great.
- Several ropes of varying lengths. (Think about how you normally like to play, and what kinds of rope you use. Then bring these, plus extras. If you're not sure, bring several 15' to 20' lengths. if you don't have ropes, here are great ones Midori recommends: 1) Cotton rope from Stockroom is soft, practical and budget conscious. 2) Or go for the lux helmp sets from Twisted Monk's Midori Kits.
- Safety scissors.
WEAR
- Comfy exercise clothes. Think yoga or gym class. No nudity during class but we're fine if you shed a layer or two
OPTIONAL & NICE TO HAVE
- Scarf or blindfold.
- Blanket, beach towel or yoga mat for the floor
REQUISITE SKILLS FOR ALL ATTENDING:
- Minimum - Basic two-column ties
About Midori
Globe-trotting sexuality educator and writer. She's back home in San Francisco after a long absence. After this class she'll be in town to lead the D/s Protocol Weekend intensive, Passionate Bonds, with the acclaimed educator and author, Laura Antoniou.
Dubbed “the super nova of kink” by Dan Savage, Midori is known for her hilarious and practical classes on amping up sexual fulfillment, boosting confidence and expanding personal growth. Originally from Japan, now based in San Francisco, she travels far and wide, teaching passionate bedroom skills.
She wrote the first English language book on Shibari, “The Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage”. In 2001 she founded Rope Dojo®. She has trained many cadres and still leads many Dojos each year.
