Rope Bondage: Speed & Flow
Increase your speed, flow, confidence & connection in your rope bondage play!
Whether you're an expert or have only taken one rope bondage class, this experience will help to make your rope play more confident, smoother and intuitive.
This class concentrates on a method of essential structured drill set to build your fluid, effective and graceful motion in tying.
Great flow and speed skills add to dynamic scenes with powerful emotional and play potential, increases confidence, allows for more intuitive creative process, and connection with your partner.
After the initial discussion, the students will break into pairs for series of unique timed challenges.
These are non-competitive exercises are designed to increase your speed and confidence while identifying areas to improve.
Along the way Midori will work with each attendee to help in your skills growth. Each exercise has purpose and philosophy behind it to deepen your play, whether you cast rope, receive rope or enjoy all sides of the rope in your private play. Everyone is expected to do the exercises, which in turn will enhance your personal play.
This a Rope Dojo Elective. Rope Dojo Electives are open to those who play at one or both ends of the rope.
REQUISITE SKILLS FOR ALL ATTENDING:
- Minimum - Basic two-column ties. This is for ALL ATTENDEES. If you don't know a two column tie, come at 6:30pm and you'll get a quick lesson.
- Pair attendance is highly encouraged. You don't need to be a couple. It's just easier to bring a practice buddy with you.
- If attending as a solo student, you'll be paired with another solo student.
This method was developed by Midori in the early days of Rope Dojo with the explicit purpose of moving people to tie and play from a deeper sensory and intuitive place ~ and to leave behiind awkwardness and uncertainty. You do not have to be a Rope Dojo graduate to attend. If you've not attended, this class will provide excellent foundation for Dojo. If you are a graduate, it's designed to enhance your effectiveness and build on the core curriculum.
The next Rope Dojo will be September 16 - 17 in Baltimore.
Doors open at 6:30pm. Instructions start promptly at 7pm. Please be on time as the class is tightly scheduled.
ROPES REQUIRED
- Several ropes of varying lengths. (Think about how you normally like to play, and what kinds of rope you use. Then bring these, plus extras. If you're not sure, bring several 15' to 20' lengths. if you don't have ropes, here are great ones Midori recommends:
- Cotton rope from Stockroom is soft, practical and budget conscious.
- Or go for the lux hemp sets from Twisted Monk. They also offer gorgeous bamboo, electro transmitting rope and hand spun cotton.
- Safety scissors or safe cutting device
WEAR
- Comfy exercise clothes. Think yoga or gym class.
OPTIONAL & NICE TO HAVE
- Scarf or blindfold.
- Blanket, beach towel or yoga mat for the floor
